Section 1: Lifelong learning mindset
Adopting a lifelong learning mindset is crucial in today’s world in any given situation, more so in the context of someone who is trying to fully integrate into a new socioeconomic environment. It means staying curious and open to new information rather than assuming that existing knowledge suffices. It takes place when individuals allow themselves to view every new experience as an opportunity to learn more and thus grow on a personal and professional level. A lifelong learning mindset is endorsed by a constant curiosity, a desire to use new information as a means for moving forward, which is the opposite of adults’ natural inability to de-learn (reassess and enrich their already existing knowledge and experience).

Section 2: Adapting to new situations
To move forward and evolve, individuals must accept the fact that change is part of life. Becoming active members of a new social and economic context means that individuals need to adapt to new data. They need to observe their new environment and readjust their habits, behaviour and way of thinking. It can be scary and stressful, which means that individuals need to:
Positive and effective communication is a key element too, as it will enable individuals to seek support when needed and build new connections.

Section 3: Building trust
When new in an environment, individuals are often seen as outsiders who cannot be trusted. It is an instinct for people to view the unknown in such a manner. Therefore, building trust is a key foundation for successful integration into society. Trust takes time to build and requires consistency, punctuality and honesty. For example, an individual who has started a business in a new environment must show up every day, always polite and professional, respond to their customers' needs in time and in full, and maintain a solid network of suppliers. All these elements indicate that the individual is trustworthy and send the signal that this person is a useful and effective part of the given socioeconomic environment.
